Christmas Holidays!

Dear Parents/Carers,

We break up on the 19th of December and are back at school on Tuesday January the 6th.  Your child has some targeted homework in their pink books that we will be working on in class in January so if you have a spare few minutes over the Christmas period to support them that would be great.  You should all have received an email (if we have your email address) regarding Fingertip your child’s online learning journey. This can be viewed from the 19th December until the end of the Christmas holidays. If you have the opportunity to use the drop box function where you can upload photographs of anything your child has been doing over the Christmas period that would be fantastic. It is always great to see what they have been up to when they are not in school.

Please remember to view are Foundation stage blog at earlyyears@blogspot.com

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Today Mrs.McMullen and Miss.Churms class went to the Abbey to enjoy the Christmas Nativity led by Mr.Weetman.

We all listened to the Christmas Story.

Children were helping Mr.Weever to carry all the figures to the stable.

We all sang our favourite Xmas song.

We had a lovely afternoon in the Abbey.

Today we welcomed the visit from the Bishop of Selby.

He came to congratulate on our outstanding SIAMS report.

Today we all came to school wearing spotty and stripy clothes to raise money.

We all made a small donation and enjoyed our buns in return:)

Why do we wear poppies?
Poppies are red flowers which are worn to show others that you are remembering those who died for their country.
the reason poppies are used is because they are the flowers which grew on the battlefields after 1st World War.

Together we went to Selby Park to show our respect to the soldiers who died in the Wars.
We said our prayer looking at the Cenotaph and held a minutes silence.

We were looking at all of the beautiful poppy wreaths that people within our local community made and displayed at the Cenotaph.

We went there to collect some autumn leaves for our investigation table.

Our investigation table looks amazing.
